  Did you know anyone who commited suicide in the org?

  back in 1991, a young brother maybe 18 years old living next to my place committed suicide.

  his father expected him to be very zealous just like he was, but the son never wanted to be like that.

  he was always controlled by his father.

  There was another tragic circumstance in our hall when a young sister bled to death following complications during childbirth, their baby died too. The husband was beside himself with grief and placed on suicide watch in psychiatric care. Nobody in the hall comforted him much as he was seen as "weak" by showing such extreme grief.

  This terrible situation still eats at me and tears me apart, as I was one of those cold-hearted, brainwashed idiot dubs who also believed he was weak and was not putting enough faith in Jehovah and trust in the resurrection hope.....

  Oh these are hurtful memories....

  .... if there is a god, may God damn the Watchtower.

  What a sad, terrible thread and it is horrible there are so many incidents of suicide in the bOrg.

  In our hall, one older brother tried to kill himself by taking an overdose. He was in a coma for awhile but did survive. He was very lonely and had a disfellowshipped son whom he missed very much. His son came to visit him in the hospital after his suicide attempt which greatly cheered him up. But he fell into a deep depression again after that as he felt so guilty about having contact with his son.

  We don't know what has happened to this brother now, last we heard, he was living alone and still going to meetings, still clinging to the "truth" and shunning his only son ...

  One Year Later - A Thank You to Tony Morris.

  i wanted to send you a note of "thanks" on this special day.. why is this day special, you may ask?

  one year ago today, you, tony, woke me up to the fact that the governing body could not have jehovah's blessing or direction.. last year, on november 8th & 9th, 2014, the united states branch visit was broadcast to over 1,000,000 jehovah's witnesses across the country.. as i sat at the kingdom hall listening to the "historic occasion," i was ignoring certain doubts that had surfaced in the few months prior.

  I can totally see how his ranting, venomous words began waking people up! Bravo!!

  Is this one of the reasons they are all reading things from paper or cue cards now?? lol

  Does anyone have the clip for the COLORED SOCKS segment?? That would be like icing on the cake and will go so well in this thread.....

  They really need to have more transparency about their financials. Knowing WT, this will never happen. It's very irresponsible and rude, really, to keep asking for donations and not provide any summary of how much goes where, what gets paid to who, etc.

  You might as well throw your money into a black hole and trust that it ends up doing good somewhere.....

  It sounds like a soap opera.... typical lame characters who each think they are of vital importance... innocent characters getting shit on and betrayed... big people at the top stomping the little people into the ground... clueless people running around trying to do important things that aren't really important after all....

  ROKU Maybe damaging TVs

  using a roku may damage the color on tv sets.

  it appears to change the color phase to magenta.. has anyone else noticed this problem on their tvs while using a roku?

  does anybody remember any thing else that was once or still is proscribed against faithful j-dubs?

  when brothers in our kh started wearing different colored shirts rather than white, it caused a great stir and ruckus.

  When brothers in our KH started wearing different colored shirts rather than white, it caused a great stir and ruckus. One popular young elder wore a blue shirt on stage when delivering his part, and it was considered very shocking. There was a LOT of discussion about this, but then other young brothers began wearing blue shirts. And suddenly it was okay.

  And wire-rimmed glasses were frowned on back in the 60's or so as it implied you might be supportive of the hippi movement, or emulating John Lennon too much.

  ...

  And to think, we have ever-continuing rants against clothing and appearance that are helping to wake people up from this cult -- our own Cappytan, for one -- *waves* --

  ...

  But it might be fun to compile a list of all the "no-no's" that the org has against our personal freedom to dress ourselves any other way than the bOrg-approved 1950's look.

  just received two emails .

  recently, it was announced that the warwick whq project will be completed by september 1, 2016. with a little less than 10 months left to go on the project, the construction project committee recently met with representatives from all eleven warwick construction groups throughout the u.s. the purpose of this meeting was to determine what can be done to more effectively continue the wonderful progress being made.

  as a result, it has been determined that, for the duration of the project, all warwick construction groups will focus on sending experienced, skilled tradespersons who have regularly worked in their trade(s)in a secular environment.

  i don't go to meetings anymore and i have become inactive for years now.

  i don't believe the witnesses have the truth more than any other organized religion.

  Welcome, Distracted!

  There was a brochure released at the last convention called, "Return to Jehovah" which is supposed to help "inactive ones" be encouraged to return.

  And this month, their TV broadcast for November features a whole spiel about helping "re activate" those who have become inactive.

  i just took a screenshot of this months cult indoctrination broadcast.

  although i have watched the "faith in action" video before and it still has the same effect on me as it always does, this image is the most evocative of them all.

  The most cultish image that has stuck in my mind from the Philipine tragedy is a child standing beside their fridge or freezer full of WT publications & videos, and smiling proudly and happily toward the camera.
